My experience learning English at the university / A general reflection

My experience learning English was different compared with the school english, and it is not bad, would be bad if this wasn't like that. Learn English is a important thing to the sciences in this moment, almost "papers" are published in english. When a researcher need to publish a research, almost time he prefer to publish in english like in a international language. Sometimes some views see that like a research more serious and reliable, but this isn't a good reason to a research, may be once a research could publish a good research in spanish and not in english, but this is strange.

I think that I like english since I am a little boy, maybe because almost things that was amusing, I saw or listen there in english, maybe the films, maybe the music, or maybe the something else.

When I studied in my school I remember that at the begining, english was complicated and no so entertainig, but this was when I was so little, but next when I began to be more mature school student I took more taste to the english: I could repeat the words in english, I could pronounce similar to the teacher and this was fine. Later I listen my father to say: "English is important, you must learn english, you could take a English course..."; but in this moment I didn't want take a english course...

When I have something like 20 years I convinced myself that english was an important thing to learn, that was at the university, and subsecuently I arrive to the Physical Therapy carreer and I could take a interesting course of english.


Now I know that the english is important and necesary because now I face with the investigations and most of "papers" are in English. Not always I think such aquiscent with english because I said: "Wy everything (the important) is in englsh?", "Why not in sapnish?" and today I maintain this question, but now the research are this. I don't want resign, but to study I need english now, in the other hand I like english so well, but ... researchs in spanish... would be nice some moments.

English is an atractive language, I don´t have the reason but I sense something like historic oportunities, conditioning, cultural constructs, and finally consensus in order to communicate with foreigners. On the other hand I have a little taste about english, and when someone (in my opinion) learn something it is more entertaining and interesting, because is an achievement. There are also reasonable questions, but I need some of comprension, tolerance and no-pride to live in this world, and love with this and to be happy with the english, with the people at the university and in God.

Nice travell


I want to write about travells. That is so nice. I like the travells, specially the adventures ones. My drean is to travell to a mountain or something like that where I can climb or do jogging with a team, like a competition betweeen teems, that is my more precious dream in travells. But I travelled before, thank's for God.

I travlled to Chiloé Island, that was great! The latest time when I stayed in Chiloé was when I decided to do a "mochileo"; that was not extream like you could think, because before of the "mochileo" I stay there with other people, that travelled too to a Catholic Mision. So in this oportunity we travelled to do volunteer work about sharing with the people and talking about our friend Jesus. So, as you can understand, after the Mision, a little group decided to stay in the south of our country and next, when began to knew other sites of the Island. In this oportunity we stay some days (if I'm not wrong) in Dalcaue, later we travelled to Castro and stayed there more time than at Dalcaue. Next we travelled to Linares and we could stay in a friend house. She have a horse, and I could ride the horse, was the first time that I could ride a horse, was fun, because the horse was gentle.

I can tell you too that other places that I want to visit they are Brazil and Haiti. Because Brazil is a place where we thought with Jeannette to visit in the summer, and Haití because is the home country of a good friend Tebo, and is a place where maybe I could share and talk with the people, maybe about the earthquake, or maybe about the hope, or maybe about God.

Movies

About movies is a good way to amuse oneself. The movies that I prefer are the movies where I can enjoy with the special effects, like the action movies, epic movies, sometimes science and fiction.

When I go to the cinema to watch a movie, I hope enjoy with this, I do not like the movies to get out sacrried or crying, sometimes I prefer a good movie where I could see some values, where I could found too a teaching for my life or a moral.

When I stay in my house I prefer to see the movies that would not seen at the cinema. like the homorous ones or comedienne, and the arthouse.

A movie that I remember is "The Lord of the Rings", I liked it, because I enjoyed with it and I could see the beauty of the scenes and characterization, and the beauty digital work about the monsters.

At the past, more time back I have greet memories of "The Independence Day", I studied at school when I saw it, and was very amusing saw the aliens and the aircrafts and the extraterrestres ships flying and circunventing the rocky mountains.

The movie that I remember more was the movie when I stayed with her, my special friend, I think that the movie was not so good but the time spent with her to see the movie was unforgettable.

The stress


Stress, is a physilogical reaction of our body to confront a menacing situaction. Therefore is not a patholy, it is a normal and necesary response to live. For example: when you find an animal that menacing you, you react in front of this situation, then you prepare to defend, if the animal wants to attack yourself.

Exist diferents classification of stress, they can be pathological or not.

When the stress is pathologial, for example when is accompannied with "uncontrollable" anxiety, this require a treatment.

The trigger factors are some like this:

- situations where needed procecing information quickly.
- harmful environmental stimulus.
- threat perceptions.
- physiologic functions alterated.
- isolation and confinement.
- locks in our interests.
- group pressure.
- frustration.

You can combat the stress with respiratory excersises, namely a voluntary control.

Nowadays in general it is perceived like a illness but this is not a reality always, because we need this reaction to face some situations to emerge graceful.

A examples of pathologic stress are:

- postraumatic stress: is the stress that emerge after terrifying event.
- work stress: when the work expectations are highest exceed the worker capacity.

To combat the stress is necesary mantain a good health (with happyness) and take the problems with calm, and concentrate in the thing that is present at the moment. If we are to confronted something the first step is work in one problem or thing and the next step is to take the other. The other important thing is mantain the hope, and trust about if "I have something in front, I may to get over", and trust in God.

Healthy people



The healthy lifestyle I think that is a form to love oneself, and this is a important thing.

You can be a person that do excecises. The excercise is a important thing, besides of the daily physical activity like walk to move from an one place to an other. It is recomended does excercise 3 times on the week and minumum an hour or an half hour daily. If you do that you can feel that your body has more energy and you feel too that you need other types of food, more healthy.

The food that you must eat is everything, but the clue is to eat not a lot of some food, but diferents foods in a low proportion. For example if you eat 4 portion of bread probabily you can feel plenty in a moment but if you continue with this habit, probabily in a month you could see the increase of your weight, because the excess of carbohydrates (that contain the bread) was converted in fatty. But if you eat one portion of bread and you eat diferents vegetables and a portion of any meat, you will be eat a diferent vitamins and protein that you need in your body including the bread (but one).

With the colors you can know if you are consume the diferents vitamins that we need, you can think like each colour is a vitamin.

Other thing that you need to know is the sleeps hours, is said that we need 8 hours of sleep to recover the energy, therefore if you need to wake up at the 6 A.M. you must consider that you must to go to bed at the 10 P.M.

Other thing that I can say you is love. Love each other, like Jesus said, with attitudes, simple gifts like a smile to the other because if you are happy you are healthy, if you give you don´t contain the things in yourself and this can not spoil in you. Share with other people: be happy and be healthy.

My favourite get-away


Now I will coment you about my favorite get-away. I can relate you about the places that I remember that I loved, for example the south of Chili, like Chiloé Island. I have been to Chiloé when I have fifteen years old once with "Juventud Misionera" of my School and my family in other opotunity.

That was great, I remember the green landscape, the big leaf of the nature, elder trees and animals grazing, that environment was so beautifull to me.

If I think in a place near to Santiago I think in Algarrobo: a beach, where we have a calm swell and we can swim with out a big waves of water, in general I have travelled to there with my parents where we can share a familiar time.

Also a place that I kneew was Valarpaíso, I had gone when I was too little, but the past summer I went with one of my best friend, that was great: the place was so beautifull now, not like the Chiloé landscape where we could see a lot of nature, now we can contemplate the human fabrication: the buildings and the houses with a paricular arquitecture adapted to the hills of the Valparaíso place. Of course the near to the beach, the summer sun and the discotheques were good to entertain ourselves.

When I travell I search a places where I can stay in calm in general, where I can think, take air to my lungs and meet with the friends, family and God.

My music


The music that I like is in general a melodic music, not so much like Heavy Metal. I like artist like Eric Clapton, other group like Oasis, Blur, Keane and The Verve. Other music that I like is the 70's and 80's songs. But I think that the artist that him music like me more than the others is the music of Beck.

Now I listen the music from the internet, generally from Youtube. I have I little mount discs only two: one of Beck and one of Eric Clapton, but recording now I can't find the first (Beck one) I think that I lost it during the the earthquake.

When I study I don't listen music, I'am get used study without music. The other kind of music that I like sometimes is the Classical Music.

I think that the music is an accompanyment, a good accompanyment sometimes.

I avoid the music, how I say in at the begining, that it is not tidy or better, when it is violent.

Other group that I like is The Doors, I like the sound of keyboard and the rhythm.

I started to listen music more regularly when I finished the school. But in the school I play keyboard but I did't listen music very much.

I think that the music is a good form to amuse oneself and is a good way to pass on fellings to the other people, that I prefer the goods ones.

The blog to me


The english class with blog help my improve in English. When I wrote I though only in to write, obviously with a grade of coherence and take caring the grammar and vocabulary in my knowledges.

In a part, I feel that this activity give me a few level of confidence on myself because I only have to wrote and I did not ask every time to the professor, and like that I only should to trust in me and in my memory and in my knowledges.

The "don't have a feedback" of the writing in a part was good because I could continue do my work and I wasn´t repressed on my ideas, but in the other hand I think that should be good to have a feedback, and don't know how and when -because the time was little to study english-, but maybe in the first ten minutes of the class with blog the student could have a feedback with bad things and good things to know in what he is bad or fine in the english language.

In general was good and I don't know if to have a feedback of the blog could be good in front of the benefits of do it like was do, because how I say do it like that the student can have the freedom to confidence in himself and make better alone, but leave a certain impression of a lack of feedback, to know if "I am good or bad?"

In addition, I liked that the blog have to give me the posibility to express my ideas and that I think, this in general is a good form to live, is movement to other, if you do that really in sum is love.

Thinking in my future


I hope that in 7 years I will have first, the knowledge to work and do happy the persons that I found.

I would like have, a family dream, a Spa where I can work with my sister that do massage, my mother that is a personal trainer and my father that have administration knowledges.

I would like can work with person that search for good health, especially with the people that seeks to be fine.

I want to incentivate the sport, especially athletism, especially the maraton, because I like do jog and I think that is a good cardiovascular exercise, where we can have more energy, eliminate the toxins and promove the sport when we do this in the street, like a prevention measure.

Other thing that I would like is investigate to contribute to the science and do a better quality of life, across the research.

As I was saying I hope have a indenpendent work. But I want to do voluntary job too without gain of money, to the people that can`t pay, specially in people where them have a encefalic vascular accident, because I know that them needs so much the therapy and I know that for ingnorance exist people that stay without movement only because thay can found help and professional advisory and sometimes the exercises that we can do are no so complicated and can be so beneficial.

The things that I think is in to be a empatic physical therapist that know the persons and that I can help them and to be compassionate with them to be of benefit to them.

I want to have a gymnasium in the Spa and a massage section to rehabilitation. Maybe I will saw elder people to be better the quality of life of this respectable and wise people.

Really this is a dream: that the people that meet with me can find a place of peace and joy to their lives.

Prevention: fraternity act


The prevention it´s personal decision to have a good helth.

If you want to live more time and better you can prevent the illness like "artrosis" doing physical excersise, like jogging fifty minutes in the morning and in the night for example.

The prevention is near you; when you have dirty hands and you want to eat, you must to clear your hands with water and soup, with that you can prevent a lot of important diseases like enteroparasites diseases, this is a individual health care that can help for a lot people.

I like the prevention do it with the example. For example the physical therapist doing jog in the street, he can incentive the sport and good health, and prevent the early "artrosis" and respiratory complications, activating the respiratory muscles.

In the family level we have the actual "family runners", we can found a lot of massive sport activities in the street where the family can paticipate and share a nice morning.

The prevention it is a important to in the smokers, nowadays exist differents campaign against the cigarrete consume, that become a lot of complications in the health, like cancer and principaly respiratory diseases, that can cause the die.

Morover, in the prevention with physic activity we can have a lot of benefits: a better cardiovascular activity, down the overload, to have more energy and to be more happy.

If you can tolk with a person and you know the mode to prevent illness and to be more happy teach him with carity and love.

The prevention it is accompanied with a own love, with the own care. If you care yourself you can care the other people around you, and this can change your family and your environment and you can do a carity act with the people and with the world. Love yourself and love you neighbor.

Woman and Man, a gift


The gender is a society thing that we have and I think that it is a gift. If we are everyone the same, maybe, everything could be more bored.

About my ponit of view I think in the woman: they have a things that we don´t have and we have things that they don´t have.

I think that God create us of this form, one by one to help between us.

In the present we can ear that the gender is not define sometimes in the each group of men and women. The male or female gender is a good form to live, if we don´t promote the natural rols we can found problems like this, in a moment someone can don´t know who is oneself. Like the parents have to teach and to feed the little human to that human can survive, the parents have that promote the gender acording her or his structure, anatomy if you wont, because in the future he or she could sufer innecessary, maybe not this, maybe you can don´t permit be so happy as he or her could be. Thinking in the humanity, if we don´t have a woman and a man, we can´t have other human to matain the species, and we don´t have human specie in the universe.

In this we can think in love and carity. We can found men witout a define gender, o a women too, in this case the carity and love must be present to accept them and dont´t to exclude, but we must care that we don´t have degenerate behavior that are not naturaly to the man or a woman, like "get married" with a other person of the same gender.

I think in the marriage because I think that is a basic think to a family and the family is a basic think to the society that, if we don´t take care with this we can have a lot of problems like depression, violence, delinquency... because without the basic column like a family, the society could pull down and could pull down the human species.

God do the thing with a higher wisdom, don´t put our "wisdom" upon the God Wisdom. Care our gender.

My favorite food


I want to tell you about my favorite food, first is the home-made food of my sweety grandmather, Ita.

I prefer the natural food that not contain preservants. I like the food without much condiment. I eat food without much salt, and I don't put it oil.

When I eat in the University I prefer eat in the University's restaurant, Eurest, because there I can found something like a home-made food.

I like the beens with spaguetti, also I like the corn pie. I like the salad mainly the lettuce and the tomato salad.

If I stay at home and I have few ingredients to cooking, but I have eggs I like prepare a omelet, if I have vegetable I put it in this, if I don´t have it, I can eat that alone, that is so good.

I like the fruit juice, the natural fruit juice, and I also like the fruit in general, especially the peach, orange, pineapple and berries like strawberry and blackberry (like my surname... ha ha!).

I know before of I enter in the University that the healthy food is the food that not contain so much salt, now I know that the salt is a mineral that containe sodium, a necesry element for us, but that is no so much good for a helthy when we consume it aditionally, because our body can maintain this in us with a good mecanism in the kidney, then we don´t need consume more salt (and Sodium) that we can found in the food without aditional salt that put when is preparing. It is the same to the industrial food like craker that contain sodium. Then put a few salt in your food, or better don´t put salt in your food.

Next I want to tell you that the food is a good thing in the world, thank you God for give us the food! and give it to the people that don´t have it, and give me the capacity to give the food to the people that don´t have it!.

Physical Therapist can help people

Physical therapy it is a carrer where I can make happy many people. To know that I can do happy other people makes me happy too.

Like a physical therapist I can increase the capacity of the sporty people.

The other thing where the Physical therapist can act is to investigate areas like Motor Control. This area at present it is defiant because the coomprehension about this is not finish, and more itself know very few of the how we can move.

The physical therapist can work with a physicist, mathematician, biologist, psychologist and others profesionals.

I like to know more of physic to do investigations in the physical therapy and give contribute to the Science and the most important to the human.

The physical therapist can investigate cualitative things where we could do a public policy to improve the quality of life in the persons. In this case I like to make a solidarity policy to help people limited resources and have a motor problems.

So the physical therapy can do a interesting and exciting carrer where we can do a lot of things to make happy other person.

Physical Therapy Begining

It´s in chiropractic where the physical therapy began, Dr. Palmer started the chiropractice and with other medical doctors they showed how to adjust the bones of the body with the stimulation of the muscles with the neurovascular and neurolinfatics reflex points.

This begining I like. I like this idea, of to find mechanisms of movement to ease someone person.

I think that we have in ourself the power of to ease, only we need to find the mechanism to do it.

I wanted to do the good in the persons, I had think that the person that give me the rason to do it is Jesus, taking his commandment of charity with the peolple.

I liked the Biology and Maths , but I wanted to have not only a Maths mather, so I choiced something of Health, the Physical Therapy.

One person of the techers of my physcal threapy school motivated me was Tomás Hernandez in a class of Physical Therapy Introduction where I saw in he the love to the career.

I like the sports to so this it other important reason to study this career, because I have the posibility to learn to other people that everything can be happy with the excercise and the movements.

The hobbies wich keep me company

I doing jog but no so much now, I try soon of to return in this matter (I want to participate in the next Interfaculty Tournament in my Universiy) because I like it. In the other times I do wolking my dog. I like listening music to, I like drow, now I read a book, it is a new hobbie to me, I like it. In the weekend I clean my motorcycle. When I want to see my parents I go to the store to work with them and I share with them.

I like share with the nature in general, sometimes I tolk with my new neighbor.

In general the hobbies make me grow and to be a best person. I know that I am a human and I remember that the life it's so entertaining.

For example when I began doing jog, I then paricipated in the branch faculty athletics I could know a lot of new people of the others careers like Medicine and Nursing.

I started jog 5 years ago constantly, and taked that like a health care and a way to beat myself, but next I taked it like a pleasure to.

The hobbies like the jog have contributed to shape with other people and develop my personality, to be more sure of myself and to know that targets can be met.

I also like to draw, but now I don't do this so much I think I have to take up this hobbie, maybe I could be a famous artist who do jogging.

The earthquake on my own

The past 27 of February of 2010 was occured a earthquake in my country. I was during the earthquake in Santiago of Chili in a party with a friend, Silvia. Pablo, a old friend, invited me to go to his birthday party, was in La FLorida.

I was'nt see both friends since long time. Pablo was atended much friends and I was with Silvia, there we share our experiences that we had.

We were very happy dancing and talking about funny things, we ate a little, we laughed at the talk about the food. And we began to dance again, I remember about three or four themes that we had dance and in a moment I felt a vibration in the floor and I indicated to my friend that with a movement with my hand, and then I remember the light began to fade and the floor moved more strong and I felt cry and the sound of glasses were broken, the other thing that I remember it's that I hagged Silvia and in a moment I thank that we could fall over I think it was the part most stronger, then the movement continued but no so strong then while continued moving we could wolk to the exit that was in front of us and they say us "you are safe here".

I'am a physical therapy student. I like the sports like jogging. I like ride in motocycle. I'am catholic and I'am Pastoral de Medicina integrant.

I hope to share with my classmates about my. And that they may know me and may I also know them.
Today God say me: don't go in motorcycle, an d I say O.K. quite. The day was strange, the asphalt was wet, wasn't cold. I taked the bus and I think. I arrived to the subway and I keep off my jacket was hot into.

I went to the church and I talked with God, and the only think I though was continued my way. Next I finish and I will take the subway again in 30 minutes I had a test. I feel like a child.
Today I ask to God, and He tell me "don't go in your motorcycle today", and I say O.K. not quite. And quarter to 7 A.M. and I went to the station to take the bus, something tell me that the environmental it's change... I take the first bus. I saw the asphalt it was wet and I continued my way. The sky was black and wasn't cold. When I arrive to the subway I keep off my jacket everything was strange or like the past when other transported me like a child...


I go to the church to talk with God and the only thing that I can do was continued my way... I leave the church and I check my clock, I must arrive the University in 30 minutes I will have a test and I wanted study before. The next bus was fill and the study was difficult. I arrive the University I looked like a stranger, I taked something to eat and I sit in a chair was 10 minutes to the test...
